Some things do not show up in photos. Open a question to see what is worth asking.
The monthly cost, and what you pay to move in
Ask what the rent and shared costs come to together, and how water, electricity and internet are handled. It also helps to ask what the move-in payment covers and what is settled when you leave, so you can compare houses on the same terms.
Shared spaces and house rules
Ask about the hours for the kitchen, bathroom and laundry, and how cleaning is shared. Rules on guests, where to take calls and online meetings, and how the shared fridge and storage work all shape daily life.
The room itself, and the streets around it
Check the light, the storage, where the outlets are, and what you can hear from the next room and the common areas. Walk the route from the station and past the shops at the hour you would normally use them.
When you can move in, and what is required
Vacancies change, so confirm with the operator that the house is open on the date you want. Ask what documents are needed, whether there is a minimum stay, and how much notice you have to give before leaving.
